Bobcat Miner 300 Indoor Hotspot (US915) with 1GB RAM. It is a LoRaWAN gateway for the Helium network, with Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity in a compact design, for anyone who wants to add Helium network coverage in their area.

Helium network rewards vary, change over time and are not guaranteed. Mapping Network makes no claims about earnings.

Your own coverage for sensors

A hotspot is a LoRaWAN gateway. It gives your own sensors, trackers and weather stations a network to report to, at home, on the farm or at work, so you aren't relying on someone else's coverage.

Ships from Ontario. Canadian orders ship within Canada, so there are no border fees or duties at your door. All prices are in CAD.

Before you buy

Bobcat, the company that made this hotspot, is out of business, and its original hotspot software is no longer supported. The hardware is still a working LoRaWAN gateway, but we can't promise that a unit will onboard to the Helium network. Contact us with any questions before you order.

Hardware setup

  1. Screw the antenna (or your antenna cable) onto the RP-SMA port before you plug in power.
  2. Use Ethernet if you can. The 10/100 port is plenty for LoRaWAN traffic and avoids Wi-Fi dropouts.
  3. Use the 12 V DC power adapter. A wrong or failing adapter is a common cause of reboots.
  4. Keep it indoors between 0 and 60 °C, with air around it. The case is IP30, so outdoors it needs the Outdoor Enclosure Kit for Bobcat 300 and a spot that doesn't freeze.
  5. Get the antenna up high. A short run of low-loss coax to an outdoor antenna usually beats the stock antenna on a desk.
