GEODNET runs a decentralized network of roof-mounted Space Weather stations. The stations monitor how solar wind affects GNSS signals, and the same stations provide corrections for precise positioning and timing.
GEODNET's mission is to gather dense, real-time geospatial data from the Earth and its atmosphere. When this post was written in 2024, GEODNET reported having more triple-band stations than any other network worldwide.
Network growth
After its seed funding, GEODNET set a goal of 20,000 stations. More reference stations, along with better monitoring technology, make an RTK network more accurate and reliable for the people who use it.
Partnerships
GEODNET works with companies such as Rock Robotic to deliver specialized RTK solutions for surveying and drone operations.
Community feedback
Feedback from the community led to changes such as triple-frequency data support and standardized NGS-calibrated antennas, which improved compatibility and performance across the network.
The GEOD token
The network uses GEOD, a token on the Polygon blockchain, for transactions within the network under GEODNET's own rules. GEODNET says its stations use very little power. Mapping Network doesn't sell GEOD and makes no promises about its value.
Looking ahead
GEODNET aims to bring RTK positioning into more consumer products, with a longer-term plan of 100,000 stations.

We don't have GEODNET stations in stock right now; read about the network on our GEODNET page. A GEODNET station comes with its own satellite antenna and cable, but a solid, high mount with a clear view of the sky is up to you. These in-stock parts can help:
